The needs assessment process of the Vestia Sorting Yard starts with a site-specific survey to evaluate the customer’s waste management needs and possibilities. This is used as the basis for drawing up a tailored survey plan that includes draft designs and a preliminary cost estimate. The next step is preparing an implementation plan and defining a more detailed cost estimate, which are then used as the basis for producing 3D renderings and obtaining the necessary building permits.

2. Competitive tendering and construction

The competitive tendering and construction process of the Vestia Sorting Yard starts with the preparation of the contract documents, which are based on the previously approved plans. The competitive tendering of the contracts is arranged carefully, after which a contract agreement is signed with the selected construction company. During the construction phase, the focus is on the precise management and supervision of the worksite to ensure that everything goes according to plan. At the end of the project, site-specific guidance is arranged on how to use the sorting yard and the yard is handed over to the customer. The end result is a finished and functional standard sorting yard.

The implementation process of the automation of the Vestia Sorting Yard starts with the detailed definition and description of the reception process, followed by the definition of the functions of the customer management system and the control centre. The end result is a ready-for-use sorting yard where the customer experience has been optimised to make operations more efficient.
